A customer story for Sawfish, made to prove the format can carry real commercial weight when it's taken not-so seriously.
Sawfish is a payments platform built by Sprint Digital, designed to help businesses get paid faster with branded, frictionless invoicing. To show what the platform does, they needed proof. Real operators who'd changed the way they get paid. They came to us to make a customer story featuring Rochele, a painting business Sam and Ali run as the second generation of their parents' company, fifty years on.
The customer story is one of the most trusted formats in commercial video and one of the easiest to make forgettable. A talking head, a feature list, a logo, done. Sawfish wanted the opposite. A customer story that earned its place: explaining the platform, showing the client experience and building real belief with enough energy that people actually watch it to the end.
A real operator, a real result, told in their own words. When it works, nothing else convinces a prospective customer faster.
Rochele gave us genuinely warm, capable talent and Sawfish gave them a result worth talking about. People relax on camera when they've got something good to say. The edit ran non-linear. Moving between job site, office, and interview, each beat handing to the next.

We didn't put Sam and Ali on the spot with a polished script. We had a conversation on prepared topics and used voiceover to support what they gave us, rather than force-feeding lines that would have died on camera. The set was relaxed enough that the truthful, golden-nugget answers actually arrived, and we let them shine in the edit.
That choice is the whole game with a customer story. The believability is in the looseness. Sam's opening, half-joking that he didn't know whether to be excited or concerned when payments dropped from 24 days to 4, does more for Sawfish than any feature list could.
The visual language carried the same instinct. The run and gun looseness of a street level documentary. Environmental interviews, handheld framing, the feeling of having met someone on a job site and hit record. The Sawfish platform got the clean, premium treatment its product deserved. Sam and Ali got the immediate, human treatment their story deserved.
